Burger Republic Lunch With Jim!

Carrie: Shocked to say this was not pick but soooo  glad we went.  This was my first visit.  I know I don’t know how that happened either.  It was worth the wait.  Yes my burger was plain but it was delicious. They have every kind of burger you can think of.  One of favorite lenders Mr. Jim Goza had one of the biggest burgers I have seen.  We all walked out...

Team Lunch Review: Arnold’s Country Kitchen

Team Lunch Review: Arnold’s Country Kitchen

This is one of Nashville’s oldest meat & 3s, and 3/4 of us hadn’t ever been here!! Our client and friend, Becca, had been wanting to try it for a while so we set the date! Arnold’s is on 8th Avenue just before Division St. We have heard it can get pretty busy at lunchtime, with the line going into the parking lot! We must’ve gotten lucky because there was a minimal line, which stayed indoors. This is a buffet style Meat & 3, so we had choices from the menu on the wall and went through the line, like in the cafeteria. It was hard not to say everything (except for meat for Michelle, of course), it all smelled so good!   When we all got to our table, this is how it looked!! SO.MUCH.FOOD.!!     Michelle: Confession: I have lived in Nashville since 1997 and had never been to Arnold’s until today. I must admit, when our March winner, Becca Melton, asked to go there, I thought I may have to pack a lunch in order to find something not cooked in pork fat or chicken stock. As long as you ask, you will find plenty of Southern worthy vegetarian options. I don’t think it’s nice of them to put the pie right at the front of the line – I mean, how are you going to resist pie when you’re hungry and it’s staring at you at eye level??? I picked out a tomato and cucumber salad, creamy mashed potatoes, cooked cabbage with dill, mac & cheese, a roll, unsweet tea…and chess pie. I don’t know why I’ve waited so long. I am the only one that cleaned my plate(s). I only left a few onions from my salad and I only did that so I didn’t offend everyone else the rest of the day. So, I am not a rookie at this Nashville staple anymore. I will be back to visit, along with the rest of the diverse lunch crowd that lines up outside to get some true Southern fare. Carrie: This is a staple for any Nashville  native or transplant.  It was a pleasant surprise pick from Becca Melton.  We just missed the rush.  When we left they were out the door lined up in the parking lot. While there is not burger review, I did have some delicious roast beef, mashed potatoes and beans. Not trying to call anyone out…Michelle and Becca.  But I did notice that both of their plates were wiped clean as well as their dessert plates.  Just an observation. Ashley: For someone who was born & raised in Nashville, I sure do have a lot to learn! I had never even SEEN...
